ROGER Federer Benardrick McKinney Jersey , seeking an 18th Grand Slam title in his 18th season on tour, will ease into 2015 with a match against either a wild-card entry or a qualifier at the Brisbane International next week.
Federer, who arrived in Australia yesterday, has a first-round bye in the Australian Open tune-up tournament. Then the 17-time Grand Slam champion will play the winner of a match between Australian wild-card entry John Millman and a yet-to-be-determined qualifier.
Australian Lleyton Hewitt, who beat Federer in the final last year, will play Sam Groth in his first match.
Hewitt and Federer are on opposite sides of the draw and can not meet each other until the final.
Federer last won a Grand Slam at Wimbledon in 2012, but feels good about adding a fifth Australian Open title this year.
Coming back from a disappointing 2013, Federer won more matches (73) than any player last year and moved back to No. 2 behind Novak Djokovic.
“Overall it was a great season for me,” Federer said yesterday. “I was consistent and I was playing positive, attacking tennis just the way I want to play and I gave myself chances at quite a few of the slams. This year I hope I can go one step further because going close is not quite good enough.”
Always wanted to go to Paris, France? Can't afford it? Why not try Paris, Kentucky? Maybe it doesn't have the Eiffel Tower or the famous fashion district, but it is a proud little city with a lot to offer.
For a trip into the past, take the family to see the Coleridge covered bridge. Not far from the bridge is the Hopewell Museum, which is unique in its exhibits, including a free-standing one of Garrett Morgan, an African-American man born in Paris who invented the gas mask and the traffic light.
For those who are amazed by the "artwork of nature", there is the Nannine Clay Wallis Arboretum, which features many species of the colorful flora from the Paris and Bourbon County countryside, including a wide spectrum of fall colors.
The Duncan Tavern is the state headquarters for the Daughters of the American Revolution (D. A. R.), and a tour of it is rich in history from the Revolutionary War era.
The historic Cane Ridge Meeting House is open to the public and boasts of its own museum taking visitors back in history.
Golf enthusiasts can play a few rounds at the Houston Oaks Golf Court or Shady Brook Golf Course. Or visit the beautiful, modern playground with its towering shade trees, picnic tables, and fascinating challenges for the children.
Or perhaps you were thinking of Rome, Italy. Budget problems again, huh? Why not try Rome, Georgia? It may not have the Vatican nearby, and you won't see the pope, but if you're a decorative art enthusiast, the citizens will tell you, "You've come to the right place".
Three rivers run through Rome - the Etowah, the Oostanaula and the Coosa - adding sunlight sparkle and moonlight reflections to this historic community.
Between the rivers is the site of Rome's founding in 1834. Its courthouse was built in 1892. First a thriving river trade and later the railroads helped turn Rome into a regional hub for commerce from Calhoun, Georgia to Gadsden, Alabama. The prosperous period ended during the Civil War when General Sherman's troops burned most of the city on their march to Atlanta.
Today's Rome boasts one of Georgia's finest Victorian City Centers with a thriving downtown in the "Between the Rivers Historic District". Explore downtown and gaze at the lovely houses and churches that stretch from Broad Street southeast to the Etowah River. Its Victorian architecture and charm make the Main Street City well worth the visit.

" Protestors hold placards during the rally for the women murdered by U.S. military personnel in Okinawa, in a park in Naha, the capital city of Okinawa, Japan, June 19, 2016. Tens of thousands of protestors took to the streets of Okinawa in Japan's southernmost Prefecture on Sunday to express their ongoing anger at the disproportionate presence of U.S. military personnel on the island and the crimes committed by them, in particular the brutal rape and murder of a local women by a base-linked worker recently. NAHA, Japan, June 19 (Xinhua) -- ""Prime Minister Abe, who is the second perpetrator of the murder case? You are"", Tamaki Ai, a student of University of the Ryukyus, said during Sunday's massive rally in Naha, capital city of Japan's southernmost island prefecture of Okinawa.
Okinawan people's anger against U.S. bases and repeated crimes committed by the U.S. military personnel has gone beyond the limit with rallies and demonstrations being held on a larger scale and on a more frequent basis.
Some 65,000 protesters across Japan gathered together in a park in Naha, protesting the heinous crime of a former U.S. Marine and base worker who raped and murdered a 20-year-old woman in April.
Speaking on behalf of the Okinawan youngsters, Tamaki cried several times, begging the Japanese prime minister to take Okinawa seriously and let Okinawan people no longer live with discrimination. In her eyes, Prime Minister Abe should also be held responsible for the murder case as his inactions to remove the U.S. bases from Okinawa actually helped the increased abuses of the U.S. military.
""Today, we as Okinawans grieved the brutal murder of the innocent woman. We have been enduring the brutal treatment for over 70 years even after .
