BEIJING http://www.bostonbruinsteamstore.com/adidas-torey-krug-jersey , July 12 (Xinhua) -- China will use its homegrown Beidou satellite navigation system (BDS) to track civil flights, in an attempt to avoid disasters like the Malaysian MH 370.
The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) said the BDS will be tested on general aviation first before it is used to monitor passenger or cargo flights.
The BDS, which boasts navigation, positioning and short message services, is able to trace aircrafts and aid search and rescue operations.
"We will first collect data and gather experience in general aviation and then gradually apply the BDS to transport aviation," said Wu Chengchang, safety chief of the CAAC at a recent seminar on BDS application in civil aviation.
China launched the first BDS satellite in 2000 to provide an alternative to foreign navigation systems. The country aimed to launch a total of 35 such orbiters and complete the global network by 2020.
The BDS services currently cover the Asia Pacific and will be expanded to the whole globe by its completion.
CANBERRA， Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- Australia will introduce a brand new ten dollar (7.5 US dollar) bank note in September， in what will be the second in a series of new notes featuring tactile "raised dots" to help the vision-impaired.
The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) announced the currency note on Friday， which will retain its blue coloring but will feature all-new images of native Australian flora and fauna.
The Reserve Bank said the new notes will be introduced in September， 2017， while all existing ten dollar bank notes in circulation will remain "legal tender".
RBA Governor said Philip Lowe said the 10 dollar banknote would also continue to honor two famous Australian writers on both the front and back.
"The ten dollar banknote celebrates two famous Australian writers， Dame Mary Gilmore and AB 'Banjo' Paterson. Their work is recognized in several design elements on the banknote， including images of a pen nib in two of the clear windows and excerpts of their poetry in microprint，" Lowe said in a statement released on Friday.
The RBA said the new note would feature "new security features" to ensure they are kept safe from counterfeiting， while the raised bumps will also return after debuting on the five dollar note released last September.
"These security features are similar to those in the five dollar banknote issued in 2016， such as the top-to-bottom clear window and the patch with a rolling color effect，" the RBA statement said.
"Each banknote in the new series will feature a different species of native Australian wattle and bird. The ten dollar banknote features the Bramble Wattle and the Sulphur-crested Cockatoo."
Australian banknotes are already some of the most secure in the world， as they are made from hard-to-replicate colored polymer.
UNITED NATIONS， March 28 (Xinhua) -- The United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Syrian Red Crescent jointly delivered food and emergency items to 25，000 Syrian people in rural Damascus， the first convoy to the area since June 2016， a UN spokesman said here Tuesday.

"We continue to call for safe， sustained and unimpeded humanitarian access to all those in need in Syria， particularly the close to 5 million people in hard-to-reach and besieged areas，" Haq added.
The current Syrian crisis， which broke out in March 2011， has taken its toll on the humanitarian situation in the Middle East country， which has progressively deteriorated over the past six years.
